Positive Conversations

We all have to face those difficult conversations when we’d much rather simply walk away.

But ignoring a problem never solved it – and conflict resolution professionals are constantly refining ways in which we can go into a challenging conversation feeling confident that it will result in a positive outcome for all concerned.

This full day will give you tools and skills to understand why some conversations are so hard – and to tackle them whenever they occur.

What will I learn?
Clive will introduce some common causes of conflict in everyday lives, and explore how our natural responses tend to make things worse. Delegates will be supported to examine their own preferred responses to disputes and conflict before moving on to explore proven tools that help resolve disputes by aiming for win-win outcomes.

How will I learn it?
Delegates will be introduced to established and more recent research-based approaches to the causes of conflict and pathways to resolving it.
Video clips, images, sample scenarios and conversations plus lots of opportunities for pair and group discussion will give delegates ample opportunities to try out and develop conversation-based tools – and adapt them to their own needs.
